May 2011 Update

Thursday, 09 June 2011 18:04

Charlefield First attended the ALL ENERGY conference in Aberdeen along with Andrew, joining the 8000 in attendance from over 50 countries who were exhibiting or visiting.

Enthusiasm for the UK Government announcement in March 2011 on the Renewable Heat Incentive was apparent as was the general frustration in the project funding market.

Charlesfield First engaged in the Austrian presentation on Biomass Heat Networks as Austrian companies look for export opportunities in the UK to take advantage of their expertise gained in recent decades.

Charlesfield First responded to the Scottish Renewables Survey to assess the impact of the Electricity Market Reform on the industry's confidence and investment plans.

Charlesfield  Firstnoted that a campaign has been launched to persuade more Scottish homes and businesses to use wood for heating. It is being led by Usewoodfuel Scotland www.usewoodfuel.co.uk, an EU-funded partnership between Forestry Commission Scotland, The Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise and Forest Research. This is consistent with the Charlesfield Strategy to create a wood pellet manufacturing and distribution centre to engage in this emerging market supported by the Renewable Heat Incentive.
