Charlesfield First has secured outline planning consent to develop the Charlesfield Biomass CHP Plant and engaging with the specially created project delivery company, Charlesfield Heat & Power Limited , work is currently being undertaken by the retained professional team to select a project partner to participate in Charlesfield Heat & Power Limited allowing the financing of the Charlesfield Biomass CHP Plant project to be completed with the project construction subsequently commencing during 2011. This will allow the generation of electricty from renewable resources to commence in late 2012 or 2013 allied to the creation of a heat supply from the same renewable resources.

Charlesfield Heat & Power Limited will ultimately fund the delivery of the Charlesfield Biomass CHP Plant projects from the sale of the electricity and the heat. Much work is currently being undertaken to establish the commercial viability of creating a local heat network supplying Charlesfield, St Boswells and Newtown St Boswells.
